The Swedish right is going to extremes, even promulgating on great replacement theories just as Sweden had rejected the politics of fear. The Sweden Democrats lost ground for the first time since 1988, slipping to third place, while the Left and Greens surged and handed the left bloc the lead. Anti-immigrant nationalism has hit its ceiling in Sweden, and voters chose cooperation over scapegoating.
This razor-thin left victory was not won on Swedish kitchen-table concerns — it was delivered by immigrant enclaves where the left racked up as much as 90% of the vote. Open borders have become an electoral strategy, importing the margin needed to win rather than persuading the country. A nation that lets demographics replace debate is choosing a future its voters never actually picked.
