- Arsenal Football Club won its first Premier League title in 22 years after rivals Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw by Bournemouth on Tuesday.
- It was the Gunners' first league title since the departure of longtime coach Arsène Wenger in 2018. Under the Frenchman's spell, the club won three titles — once in his second season between 1997 and 1998; another in the team of 2001-02; and the third during the "Invincibles" team of 2003-04.
- It was also the first league title for the Spaniard Mikel Arteta, who was appointed Arsenal manager in 2019. Under his leadership, the club finished runners up in the last three seasons.
