Calling this a coalition is generous when its own biggest member, the OLA, says it is not part of Tsimdo and demands Fano disown the Wollega faction accused of slaughtering civilians. Gunmen flying the Fano banner killed 14 people and kidnapped 10 others near Walga for ransom, which looks more like banditry than liberation. Meanwhile, Washington just lifted the arms embargo on Ethiopia, a vote of confidence these armed groups don't deserve and are unlikely ever to earn.
Government-critical narrative
Seven armed movements from six regions have set aside old blood feuds because the threat is the same everywhere: a personalist Prosperity Party regime that rigged a June vote in which Tigray never cast a ballot. A transitional charter with real constitutional dialogue is now the only path left as conflict, displacement and hunger persist, with millions still dependent on aid and over 1,300 hunger deaths verified in Tigray after the cease-fire.
