The Spin

Pro-government narrative

Vučić's resignation marks the end of an era of public service — rebuilding Serbia from economic ruin into a nation with international standing. Admitting past mistakes and extending forgiveness to protesters shows real leadership. Serbia deserves a leader who puts the country first, and Vucic has earned the right to continue that work as prime minister.

Government-critical narrative

Vučić's resignation is a textbook power-preservation move straight out of the old Russian political playbook — step down from one seat, slide into another and keep the same grip on the country. His presidential term doesn't even expire until 2027, so this is a calculated reset. Rotating leadership between the same hands is just rebranding control.
