Senate Committee Votes to Hold Fauci in Contempt
Is this legitimate oversight or political theater?

Republican narrative
Fauci appeared under subpoena, gave an opening statement, then invoked the Fifth Amendment over 100 times — even though a blanket presidential pardon removed any criminal jeopardy. Florida's attorney general has issued formal subpoenas over alleged self-dealing and potential fraud, and no pardon shields him there. Thursday's vote was the right move.
Democratic narrative
The Senate contempt vote against Fauci is pure political theater. Rand Paul's hearing was a vendetta, not a legitimate inquiry — all while the CDC and FDA continue to be dismantled, leaving Americans more exposed to real outbreaks happening right now. Pointing fingers at Fauci does nothing to address measles or other active public health crises.
