SCOTUS made the right choice here. Stripping lawful immigrants of CDLs makes no sense when even federal agencies admit there's zero evidence it improves public safety. Many states saw licensed driver totals jump after expanding access, proving more licensed drivers means safer roads. Denying skilled workers who've passed every test doesn't protect anyone, it just punishes people who are already contributing.
SCOTUS has dropped the ball. A man who couldn't read a single road sign was handed a CDL and put behind the wheel of an 80,000-pound truck and three people are dead because of it. California and Washington's sanctuary CDL programs flagrantly ignore federal safety standards, and those unlicensed dangers cross state lines every day. Justice Thomas was right: Florida deserves a forum, and Congress must act before more lives are lost.
