Establishment-critical narrative
Gates knew about Epstein's sex offense conviction before these meetings took place, and foundation staff repeatedly warned senior leadership about the reputational risks, yet were ignored for years. Thirty meetings went ahead, several at Epstein's Manhattan residence, despite those red flags being escalated all the way to Gates himself. A self-commissioned review that lacked access to Gates' personal communications is hardly the last word on accountability.
