Version 7.6.4
The royal family spent millions to keep Andrew out of a courtroom, and that cover-up is now blowing up in their faces. Buckingham Palace sat on security logs, internal emails and documentation that could have helped victims, choosing institutional protection over accountability. Half-hearted statements about "standing ready" to support police don't cut it when the family bankrolled a settlement to silence the whole thing.
Blaming the entire royal family for Andrew's conduct ignores the fact that King Charles actively worked to limit Andrew's role long before the scandal fully broke. When the evidence became undeniable, the institution acted — stripping Andrew of his titles and making clear no one is above the law. One person's gross behavior doesn't indict a centuries-old institution full of people devoted to genuine public service.
