In addition to thoughts and condolences to all those affected by this tragedy, police are grateful to all the agencies, such as fellow law enforcement, fire, EMS and medical teams, that responded courageously and compassionately to this incident. Gratitude also goes out to the citizen and off-duty state trooper who returned fire and helped prevent further casualties.

Right narrative

Huge respect to the civilian patriot who took matters into his own hands and engaged the shooter, likely preventing more fatalities. This is exactly why the Second Amendment exists in the United States: to protect the right of law-abiding citizens to defend themselves and others during deadly emergencies, when every second can mean the difference between life and death.
