    The Spin

    Narrative A

Eli Lilly's ads are deliberately misleading millions of Americans by cherry-picking outdated studies that pit Lilly's highest doses against lower doses of Wegovy and Ozempic. Lilly's campaigns, which aired during major global sporting broadcasts, completely ignore the efficacy of Novo's newest dose. Accurate health care information isn't optional, and burying critical data in fine print doesn't fix a deceptive national ad campaign.

    Narrative B

Novo Nordisk's lawsuit is a legal maneuver to suppress clinical evidence showing tirzepatide outperforms semaglutide, not a genuine fight for consumer transparency. Lilly's advertising is truthful, transparent and grounded in the most direct scientific evidence available. Rather than compete on the merits of its products, Novo is asking a court to silence legitimate science, which is a troubling precedent for health care competition.
