    The Spin

    Pro-Iran narrative

The global outpouring at Khamenei's funeral proves his towering stature among anti-hegemonic movements worldwide. Officials from neighboring and non-aligned countries showed up not out of ceremony but genuine grief, a direct rebuke of U.S.-Israeli unilateralism. Assassinating the leader of a sovereign nation is state terrorism, and the world's presence in Tehran made that verdict loud and clear.

    Anti-Iran narrative

Two million people chanting "Death to America" at Khamenei's funeral isn't mourning, but a sinister geopolitical declaration. Any notion of diplomatic conciliation with Tehran died in that crowd, as the regime used a funeral to broadcast its commitment to destroying Western civilization. Cutting deals with a government that openly organizes around hatred of the West is dangerous naivety.
