Political violence has no place in American life, and another family is grieving because someone decided bullets were a substitute for ballots. Showing up to back a candidate should never carry a death sentence. Every leader and every voter shares the duty to make this kind of brutality unthinkable rather than treating it as background noise in politics.

Mourning the dead means nothing without answers, and the public still cannot see what really happened in Butler. The FBI dripping out records at a pace that would take more than a decade to finish looks like stonewalling. Families of the wounded and the dead deserve the full truth now, while it still matters.
