The Ten Commandments are foundational to American law and history, and the Supreme Court's longstanding history and tradition test makes Act 573 clearly constitutional. Displaying these texts in public schools isn't unilaterally imposing religious beliefs on others — it's honoring a document that has shaped Western civilization and American governance.
Forcing a Protestant version of the Ten Commandments into every public school classroom is straight-up government proselytizing. Arkansas clearly forgot that public schools exist to educate, not evangelize. This ruling will ensure that Arkansas families of all faiths have the dogma-free classrooms that they deserve in accordance with the Constitution.
