The Facts
- Israelis on Wednesday marked three years since the Hamas-led Oct. 7 terror attack, with ceremonies and protests taking place at more than 400 locations, beginning with a nationwide minute of silence at 6:29 a.m., the time the assault began in 2023.
- The attack killed about 1,200 people and saw 251 taken hostage, including 378 killed and 44 abducted at the Nova music festival — families of those lost in the incident gathered at the site at dawn on Wednesday to mourn.
- Israel also conducted new strikes in Gaza on Wednesday, with al-Shifa hospital reporting two people killed overnight. More than 74,000 Palestinians have been killed since conflict began following the Oct. 7 attack, according to the territory's Health Ministry.
