Were the Lebanese media workers killed by Israel innocent journalists or Hezbollah operatives using press credentials as cover?

The Spin

Anti-Israel narrative

Deliberately targeting journalists is a blatant violation of international humanitarian law, and Israel's strike on three Lebanese media workers in Jezzine is exactly that. Labeling reporters as combatants without evidence is a cynical tactic to justify killing the press. With over 210 journalists killed in Gaza and at least 11 in Lebanon, this is a documented pattern of silencing coverage through lethal force.

Pro-Israel narrative

Calling these individuals journalists is a flat-out misrepresentation — one of those killed had a documented history of using press credentials to gather intelligence on Israeli troop movements for Hezbollah. Embedding operatives inside media organizations is a classic terrorist tactic to exploit protections meant for real reporters. Israel targeted terrorists, not journalists, and that distinction matters.
