Sudan's displaced millions can't be abandoned right when the fighting and the rains are at their worst. The Common Humanitarian Pipeline has already reached 2.84 million people, and letting shelter and sanitation stocks run dry would gut the delivery network that more than 100 partners rely on. Funding now is preferable to rebuilding a collapsed system later.
Establishment-critical narrative
Shipping billions overseas while citizens wait months for care and bridges crumble at home is indefensible. Foreign aid budgets get buried inside bigger spending bills precisely so voters never get a straight say on them. And the moment anyone proposes a trim, out come the accusations of genocide — proof the whole thing runs on guilt.
