Nobody should get a pass from Congress just because they're rich enough to hire an army of lawyers. Leon Black stonewalled two lawful subpoenas, walked out of an interview and ran to court rather than explain $170 million in payments to Jeffrey Epstein or hand over the NDAs used to muzzle women. Accountability in the Epstein probe still means something.
This contempt vote is retaliation pretending to be oversight. The subpoenas demanded private information with no real legislative purpose, and the one NDA within the committee's authority was already handed over and upheld as legal by New York courts. Dragging a man who testified voluntarily, denied any knowledge of Epstein's crimes and exercised his right to sue is an abuse of power.
