Younger men are regressing on gender equality, with Gen Z men twice as likely as Baby Boomers to demand wifely obedience and final say in household decisions. This backlash reflects growing reactionary attitudes among young men who feel threatened by women's gains. The trend risks trapping women in subordinate roles while forcing men back into rigid, outdated masculine expectations.
Biblical marriage design establishes a centuries-old societal order. This complementary structure mirrors traditional values, where authority exists to serve and sacrifice, producing flourishing marriages that beautifully display the gospel. This trend among Gen Z men is, therefore, a positive cultural correction after decades of cultural trends destroying the traditional family.
The "tradwife" revival and Gen Z’s attitudes toward marriage reflect a false choice between rigid traditionalism and dismissing domestic life altogether. Many young people are rediscovering the value of homemaking skills and stable family roles while still supporting women's careers and independence. The healthiest path isn't extremes on either side, but a balanced model where work, family, and domestic competence coexist.
