Version 7.7.2
Barring students from independent Catholic schools from elite military prep programs is straightforward discrimination, and the Ministry of Armed Forces admitted as much. These are high-achieving kids from families with deep traditions of military service, and they were rejected before anyone even looked at their grades. Cutting off this pipeline of motivated, patriotic recruits to satisfy some ideological agenda is a self-defeating move for an institution that already struggles to attract committed officers.
The outrage over Catholic students at military schools conveniently ignores that the Court of Auditors flagged these same institutions for persistent sexist and racist behavior rooted in a toxic "military tradition" culture. The Ministry confirmed that students from non-contract schools were actually admitted, making up less than 2% of applicants. Framing a bureaucratic error as an anti-Catholic crusade is a stretch that serves political grievance more than genuine concern for equal access.
