FIFA firing Kevin Lamour for speaking out against Infantino's secretive $20 billion World Cup sell-off is textbook management by fear. Standing up for what he believed was right, Lamour exposed how FIFA staff were deceived and treated with contempt, and was unfairly pushed out for it in retaliation. World football deserves better than an organization run like a personal fiefdom.
Lamour's exit is being used to manufacture a retaliation scandal, with speculation and insinuation once again presented as fact to undermine FIFA and Infantino. Infantino holds the mandate of FIFA's 211 member associations, just delivered the most successful World Cup in history and is looking to drive more positive change in global football. Attacking him over Lamour's departure serves entrenched interests resisting that progress.
