The Spin

Democratic narrative

The U.S. is complicit is Israel's war crimes, and operates along a policy of disarming Lebanon in the face of Israeli might. Washington demands Lebanon disarm Hezbollah while refusing to give Lebanese forces the weapons needed to do it. It is time Washington stood up against illegalities in the Middle East and started protecting the most vulnerable.

Republican narrative

Democratic calls for the U.S. to cut military aid to Israel mid-conflict would hand a win to terrorist and destabilizing forces in the Middle East. While the left has been increasingly captured by anti-Israel rhetoric, the Republicans remain rooted in sound foreign policy judgment. Weakening Israel now rewards the very forces responsible for the most egregious war crimes in the region.
