At least 32 people were killed and 66 others were injured after a construction crane collapsed onto a moving train in Nakhon Ratchasima province, Thailand, on Wednesday morning. The train was traveling from Bangkok to Ubon Ratchathani province.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:10 a.m. local time in Sikhiu district, about 230 kilometers (143 miles) northeast of Bangkok, when the crane fell onto two carriages of the train, which was carrying around 195 passengers and crew and traveling at 120 kilometers per hour (74.5 mph).

The impact caused the train to derail and catch fire, while the second carriage was split in half. Rescuers used hydraulic cutters to free trapped passengers, and a war room was established at Sikhiu Hospital, where most of the injured were receiving treatment.
