Version 7.6.4
Fair's testimony is the most public exposé yet of the SPLC's corruption. It follows a string of damaging revelations, including DOJ-linked charges that its funds were funneled to extremist figures, shell companies were used to conceal payments and donor money helped sustain groups the organization claimed to oppose. Combined with Fair essentially admitting his organization is biased in favor of Muslim groups, the evidence paints a picture of an institution facing its deepest credibility crisis in decades.
Fair's testimony undermines claims that the SPLC's guilt is already established. The organization denies the allegations, no court has found it liable and Fair pointed to decades of documented victories against hate groups, discrimination and antisemitism. By appearing before Congress despite an ongoing investigation, SPLC demonstrated confidence in its record. Allegations and indictments are not proof, and critics have yet to show that the organization's mission was fraudulent.
