Version 7.18.3
Booting entire newsrooms off White House grounds over unflattering coverage is punishment for speech, and the First Amendment doesn't bend for a bruised ego. The real loss falls on readers who rely on pool reports to see what the presidency actually does. Once access hinges on flattery, the public only sees a version the president approves.
Publishing freely is a right; a desk inside the White House is a privilege, and no outlet is owed prime real estate after years of slanted coverage. Democrat administrations froze out Fox News and the New York Post with barely a peep from the press corps now screaming censorship. Fairness should mean the same standard for every outlet.
