Was she the leader Hungary deserves or an illegitimate nominee installed by an authoritarian EU process?

It's a pity that Polgár declined the offer. She was exactly the kind of leader Hungary deserves — someone with strong international credibility and an inspiring life story rooted in Hungarian heritage, who earned global respect through sheer brilliance; someone whose achievements speak louder than politics.
Government-critical narrative
Any presidential nomination under the current Hungarian government is illegitimate from the start, no matter how impressive the résumé, as the democratic rule of law has collapsed. The EU is acting like an authoritarian empire, dictating who can serve as head of state and barring political opponents from future elections.
