Canada: Montreal Shooting Leaves Police Officer, Civilian and Suspect Dead

This was a horrific shooting in which a police officer and a member of the public were killed. Thoughts go out to the victims, their loved ones, the first responders and the entire community of Côte‑des‑Neiges while gratitude is owed to the courageous police officers whose heroic dedication protects Canada's communities.

There are reports suggesting this was either an antisemitic attack or one fueled by "incel" ideology. However, with officials having said that a motive has not been established at this time, much of the online discussion appears to be getting ahead of the available evidence. Authorities have rightly advised against such speculation.
