Version 7.4.3
India's state elections delivered something remarkable — massive, broad-based voter participation that reflects a democracy in genuinely good health. From elderly voters casting postal ballots to first-timers standing queuing for the chance to exercise their democratic right, the turnout across West Bengal and beyond showed real civic commitment. The integrity of the Indian electoral process is worth defending, and the results speak for themselves.
India's electoral process is riddled with serious problems that threaten the foundation of democracy. The Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision deleted millions of names from electoral rolls with no clear methodology, while EVMs recorded votes well past polling hours at impossible speeds. When the system cannot be independently audited or verified, calling these elections free and fair is an affront to democracy.
