Apple Briefly Pulls Telegram From App Store Over CSAM
Was this dangerous overreach or necessary leverage against a platform that enables crime?

Telegram's track record makes Apple's alarm bells completely understandable given a history of white supremacist channels, open drug markets and rampant CSAM trading that Telegram repeatedly fails to address without external pressure. Pulling the app unfortunately seems to be the only kind of leverage that drives action.
Establishment-critical narrative
Apple's decision sets a terrifying precedent for every app hosting user-generated content, and proof that bad actors can manipulate a trillion-dollar gatekeeper into punishing platforms that actually have strong moderation. If Telegram, with its zero-tolerance CSAM policies and AI-powered tools, can get pulled this fast, it is clear that no app is safe.
