Version 7.18.3
Money, yachts and celebrity clients couldn't buy a way out of this one, and that's exactly how the system is supposed to work. A decade of predatory behavior finally met real consequences, thanks to women brave enough to speak up against men who assumed status made them untouchable. Three decades behind bars sends the message that privilege is not a shield.
Thirty years looks tough on paper, but it falls far short for survivors handed a lifetime of trauma that no release date ever ends. Denials, smear campaigns aimed at accusers and a defense investigator probing a victim's neighborhood show contempt rather than remorse. Anything less than the maximum leaves the door open for men who still insist nothing wrong ever happened.
Thirty years behind bars doesn't erase serious questions about the fairness of the trial. The Alexander brothers have insisted the encounters were consensual, challenging their accusers' credibility. The prosecution unfairly prejudiced the jury and a 15-year sentence would have been more appropriate — this will be appealed.
