The Spin

Pro-Trump narrative

President Trump is frustrated with both Putin and Zelenskyy. He wants a full ceasefire now. While he's still confident he can get a deal together, the leaders of Russia and Ukraine need to come to the negotiating table and get this settled immediately.

Pro-Ukraine narrative

Russia is deceiving the world by calling for a three-day truce to coincide with its military parade. If Putin really wanted peace, there is no reason that a full and permanent ceasefire can't start immediately.

Pro-Russia narrative

Despite Russia's goodwill in offering a three-day truce, as well as other gestures such as engaging directly in negotiations, Ukraine has not reciprocated. It appears that some, including those in European capitals, want the war to continue.
