The Spin

Pro-RSF narrative

The accusations made against the RSF are complete fabrications invented by hostile forces for their propaganda campaigns. In the field, RSF troops strictly abide by the rules of engagement and humanitarian law. The allegations suggesting otherwise are simply false narratives pushed by the Islamic Movement for political gain after their battlefield defeats.

Pro-establishment narrative

The mass killings, assaults and other atrocities seen in El Fasher are part of a horrific pattern of violence that has plagued Darfur since April 2023, and one that is only getting worse. The RSF's actions constitute war crimes and crimes against humanity under international law — underscoring the desperate need to secure a ceasefire to end this conflict and alleviate the suffering.
