The Spin

Pro-Trump narrative

For 150 years, numerous U.S. presidents have longed for a large event space at the White House complex, but their administrations have come and gone without attempting to do anything about it. Trump, who has discussed his plans with the National Park Service and others, will make these necessary changes, doing so in a way that honors the original design of the building.

Anti-Trump narrative

If anything could symbolize Trump's unabashed, wrecking-ball-style presidency, it would be the images of heavy machinery being used to tear down the wall of the historic home of the U.S. presidency. In its place will go a lavish and tasteless ballroom.
