Hamas remains fully committed to Israel's destruction and is rapidly rebuilding its terror capabilities with 7,500 operatives redeployed across Gaza. The organization has resumed weapons manufacturing, tunnel restoration and brutal enforcement of its rule while American policies inadvertently protect Hamas from elimination. Trump's business-focused approach fails to grasp that this conflict involves existential threats requiring military solutions, not financial incentives.
Israel's continued bombardment of Gaza exposes the fiction of any genuine ceasefire, and the U.S. is sitting back, pretending to push peace while watching Gaza burn until it’s time to turn the enclave into a joint U.S.–Israel colony. Trump's "Board of Peace" hands Washington sweeping authority over Gaza while Israel maintains military dominance over most of the territory. By hollowing out international law and treating Palestinian rights as negotiable, this scheme entrenches occupation under a new label.
Though the future will be challenging, it is essential that both Israel and Hamas stick to the ceasefire. Of course, many aspects of the deal are potentially problematic, but nothing is gained from returning to war. Hamas must follow through with what it agreed to, and, in turn, Israel should not escalate the situation.
