The Spin

Democratic narrative

Trump's DOJ has completely botched the Maxwell case. They withheld the Epstein files, sent Trump's ex-lawyer Blanche to secretly interview her, and then snuck her to a cushy, minimum-security camp — defying rules and triggering chaos in and outside of the prison. Despite the Supreme Court denying her appeal, Trump has recklessly suggested a pardon, mocking Epstein's victims.

Republican narrative

The chaos around Ghislaine Maxwell stems from Trump's critics, not the president. Desperate to link him to Epstein, they peddle baseless conspiracies despite Maxwell's testimony that Trump was "never inappropriate." While her unorthodox prison transfer has fueled some speculation, the DOJ's transparency push and Trump's call for openness counter the witch hunt.

Establishment-critical narrative

Democrats and Republicans have shielded Epstein, Maxwell and their elite allies for decades — culminating in this sweetheart prison deal even after her conviction. Trump's DOJ is only the latest to play Epstein protector. Bipartisan politicians, businesspeople and celebrities have gotten away with horrific crimes.
