This sad incident stems from a misunderstanding between the Syrian armed forces and Kurdish units of the SDF, but it will not change the fact that Syria is on the path to a democratic future. After the Syrian people overthrew the brutal Assad regime, the U.S. will continue to stand by their side to defeat the shadows of the past and the remaining terrorist threat, to build a peaceful Syria where the Kurds are part of the people and the army.
