The Spin

Democratic narrative

Trump's tariffs on Brazil are a reckless disaster that makes everyday Americans pay more for basic goods. Coffee prices, for example, are skyrocketing because Trump cannot grasp that coffee beans do not grow in Iowa or Vermont. These chaotic trade wars hurt working families as Trump prioritizes helping corrupt foreign leaders over tackling the country’s cost-of-living crisis.

Republican narrative

The Senate has just handed a massive victory to Brazil’s Marxist regime and its Chinese Communist allies, who want to control America’s meat supply. These tariffs were protecting American interests against a corrupt government that jails its political opponents and censors American citizens. Senators, however, chose to placate foreign cronies rather than champion American sovereignty.
