The two-state solution is a dangerous fiction that rewards terrorism and ignores reality. Palestinians never wanted a state alongside Israel, but instead of it, as proven by their refusal to establish one when Jordan and Egypt controlled the territories before 1967. With Hamas atrocities rewarded by international recognition and Abbas paying terrorists for murder, creating a Palestinian state on the hills overlooking Israel's population centers would be a national catastrophe.
Israel's illegal occupation and apartheid rule have made the two-state solution impossible through relentless settlement expansion and denial of Palestinian rights. The international community must demand that Israel end its crimes and transform the occupation regime into a democratic state with equal rights for all, creating conditions where both peoples can exercise genuine self-determination. Only ending the supremacist Zionist structure can bring lasting peace and justice.
The two-state solution faces its last chance as international frustration with Netanyahu's extremism reaches a breaking point. Recognition of Palestine by Western nations, combined with Palestinian Authority reforms and Hamas's exclusion from governance, offers the only viable path to end the conflict. Without immediate action to revive partition along the 1967 borders, the region faces permanent war or forced displacement of hundreds of thousands.
