The Spin

Democratic narrative

Trump's executive order is as cruel as it is illegal, as proven by this judge's correct ruling. The order violates Eighth Amendment protection against cruel and unusual punishment. Despite the administration's policies that say otherwise, trans people must be afforded the same rights as everyone, including access to necessary medical care.

Republican narrative

Once again a judge has overstepped. Federal judges have no right to overrule the will of the voters and force taxpayers to fund ideological treatments that deny biological reality. The executive order rightfully recognizes only two genders and prevents male inmates from accessing women's facilities and feminine products at public expense.
