Congress has every right to investigate Smith's entire team, which, at the behest of the former Biden administration, embarked on a politically motivated crusade against Trump. Not only should Windom be prosecuted for contempt of Congress, but Smith, who improperly spied on Republicans, should face justice after weaponizing his office to target political opponents.

Democratic narrative

Windom was the lead prosecutor in the official election interference case against Trump, which clearly gives him privacy privileges under the law. At the very same time, Republicans, whose phone records were lawfully requested as part of the Trump investigation, are attempting to profit from this by suing the DOJ for hundreds of thousands of dollars. They only care about money and power, not justice.
