ICJ: Israel Must Allow UNRWA, Other UN Agencies to Operate in Gaza

Though the ICJ's opinion is nonbinding, it sets an important precedent. Israel, of course, has valid concerns regarding the UNRWA, but this does not mean that it can deny aid to Palestinians in Gaza, who must be protected.

UNRWA has long facilitated terror and provided cover for Hamas and Islamic Jihad. Several UNRWA employees participated in Hamas' Oct. 7 terrorist massacre, which should be more than enough of a reason to once and for all get rid of the terror-adjacent organization. The ICJ's opinion is irrelevant to Israeli policy and is the product of the clear bias against Israel in international institutions.

Pro-Palestine narrative

Besides the fact that Israeli accusations against UNRWA are fully baseless, the agency is quite literally the only international organization with the infrastructure capable of providing humanitarian aid in Gaza. Considering that almost all of the donor countries — most of whom being allies of Israel — have reinstated funding to the agency should indicate that Israeli claims are nonsense. Attacks on UNRWA only serve to make the humanitarian situation in Gaza worse.
