This bill is obviously a weak attempt by the Trump administration to buy off Americans who are going to be hurt by tariffs. The proposed payments won't come close to covering the cost these tariffs are going to bring to consumers. If tariffs are as much of a win as the administration claims, then why are these payoffs necessary?
