The Spin

Pro-government narrative

In response to the recommendations made by Baroness Casey, the government is committed to implementing a national inquiry, with all the necessary powers, into the grooming gang scandal. The government is wholeheartedly committed to uncovering the truth behind these awful crimes and will stop at no length to ensure that the victims get the justice they deserve.

Government-critical narrative

It has been four months since the prime minister announced he would launch a national inquiry into the grooming gangs scandal, yet the government has nothing to show for it. The victims and survivors of this travesty, as well as the public, deserve better. For their sake, the government must take immediate action to rectify this egregious error.
