The Trump administration is carrying out Gestapo-style arrests of not only civilians but elected officials and their staff. Immigration officials, some in uniform and some hidden in plain clothes — like in the case of Rep. McIver — are deliberately crashing legal protests, arguing with protesters, and then arresting them when things become heated. This state violence must be exposed before Congress and put to an end.
Democrats are creating hysteria as a political tool to stop Trump's immigration policies. LaMonica McIver was caught on video deliberately attacking known immigration agents outside an immigration facility, and did so with the goal of garnering the media attention she's now using to cry foul. Other politicians have put immigration officers in danger by releasing their identities, so it makes complete sense for Trump to have their offices investigated.
While this is a shock and awe policy, the end goal isn't what either party claims. Since 9/11, the national security state has awaited a catalyst to entrench a full-scale surveillance state, and the volatile mix of illegal immigration and anti-Israel protests has provided it. This manufactured crisis justifies sweeping control, eroding civil liberties under the pretext of security, while the immigration issue remains unresolved, ensuring the surveillance state persists beyond Trump's tenure, regardless of which party holds power.
