The Spin

Techno-optimist narrative

While the cancelled launch is a disappointment, one which was unavoidable, Blue Origin remains committed to seeing the mission through after negotiating an exemption with the FAA. NG-2 will push the New Glenn rocket's specifications to its limits, while spearheading NASA's space exploration efforts and testing the latest in communications equipment.

Techno-skeptic narrative

The billionaire space tourism pushed by Bezos, Musk and others represents the ultimate hypocrisy. While countless billions of ordinary people across the world struggle with real-life problems, this clique of the ultra-wealthy claims to be advancing mankind. In truth, their efforts are nothing more than vanity projects while the world and its climate fall apart around them.
