The Syrian government's failure to secure vital transportation routes and protect civilians has directly caused this bloodshed and lays bare the sectarian nature of post-Assad Syria. State institutions have deliberately neglected their responsibilities, allowing repeated violations against Druze communities to escalate into full-scale violence. Self-defense becomes necessary when authorities abandon their duty to maintain order.
Pro-government narrative
Sectarian militias are undermining Syria's fragile transition by refusing to integrate into legitimate security structures. President Ahmad Sharaa has deployed forces to restore peace and protect national unity and all communities, especially minorities, but local armed groups continue to destabilize the situation. National unity requires all communities to cooperate with official authorities rather than taking matters into their own hands.
