The Spin

Narrative A

While he certainly doesn't deserve Canadian citizenship, the petition calling for Musk's citizenship to be revoked over anti-Canadian statements and his role in Trump's administration won't affect a "sociopath" like him. The only meaningful action that can be taken against Musk is economic: boycotting his products by avoiding the use of X or the purchase of Tesla vehicles is the only message he'll understand.

Narrative B

This petition is political theater lacking legal merit, because Canadian law, as it stands, doesn't allow citizenship revocation based on political views or statements. This action sets a dangerous precedent for targeting dual citizens based on their political affiliations and could harm Canada's own international relations.
