The Spin

Left narrative

Of the 10 GOP Reps. who voted to impeach Trump, Katko is the third to announce retirement. Others have been stripped of leadership roles. The GOP has been reduced to a cult, where those insufficiently loyal to Trump are purged.

Right narrative

Katko's highly contested district is likely to be redrawn by the Democratic-controlled NY State Legislature to favor Democratic challengers.
