The Spin

Left narrative

The title is unjustified - he has faced sexual and racial harassment claims as an employer and been sued by a stockmarket regulator. Musk is part of a problematically wealthy strata who exploit their extreme power by avoiding tax and discouraging unions.

The Guardian

Right narrative

Musk is a visionary using his success to fund exploration and experimentation beyond the limits of public wealth. The use of his personal money to explore how technology may aid future generations is phlanthropic.
