Socialists and Democrats

The Socialists and Democrats (S&D) is the second-largest political group in the European Parliament, representing center-left social democratic and socialist parties from across EU member states. Founded in 1953 as the Socialist Group and renamed in 2009, the group advocates for social justice, workers' rights, environmental sustainability, and progressive economic policies within the European Union framework.
