Mohamed ElBaradei is an Egyptian diplomat who served as Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) from 1997 to 2009, receiving the Nobel Peace Prize in 2005 for his work to prevent nuclear weapons proliferation. He served briefly as Vice President of Egypt in 2013 during the transitional government following the removal of President Mohamed Morsi.
